Robert Downey Jr. is not amused

Movieline shows us how to piss off Robert Downey Jr. in one easy step:

First Journalist: I’ve got to ask. What do you think [Tropic Thunder Method actor] Lincoln O’Siris would think of Jamie’s performance in this?

Robert Downey Jr.: Next question.

Robert Downey Jr.: By the way I could just say that to all them.

First Journalist: Do you think he’d approve?

Robert Downey Jr.: I have no idea how to even begin answering that question. And by the way—I want to have a good time. I want to have a great time, just that one tied my fucking shoelaces together right off the bat. What else you got?

Second Journalist: So I’ll kiss your ass and maybe it’ll be better.

Robert Downey Jr.: I don’t think that’s the answer either. Yeah, you do your thing and I’ll do mine.

There's a helluva lot more class in Robert Downey Jr. than there is in me.

Okay, there's more Downey Jr. news (of the Less than Zero variety) so head on over to Get the Big Picture and The Playlist.

  1. He has alot more class than I do also. I would have cussed the journalist out for asking me such a stupid and insensitive question. Lincoln Osirus was a character Robert Downey Jr. played in a movie. The line came from the script - they would have to ask Ben Stiller that question because he wrote the line himself. The journalist went out of his way to insult Robert Downey Jr., his personal beliefs aren't reflected by a character he had played nor a line in a script. Robert is one classy actor and a great talent. Obviously he doesn't believe the term retarded should be applied to the mentally handicapped. The journalist was a real a**hole to even ask such a question. Then he continued to push the issue. The second journalist was just as insulting and insensitive. Robert Downey Jr. didnot deserve to be treated that way. Both of those morons owe him an apology in my opinion. Out of all of the stars today, Robert Downey Jr. has always treated the press, paparazzi and his fans graciously since he has gotten well. He has gone out of his way for them. I guess they forgot that. Maybe they should remember how classy a man he really is!!

  2. You said it so much better than I could have.

Since he's decided to get better he has treated everyone with a lot of respect. I've seen a many interviews where all the journalist asks are about his past drug problems, and RDJ is always level headed, and gives a polite response. Even when you can tell that he is (rightly) exasperated.

He's one of the few actors in Hollywood who time after time gets very rude questions that members of the press would never dare to ask anyone else. I don't know how he puts up with all this with his usual humor and grace.
